ABOUT US

Nottingham Cycle Tours is a local company run by local people, set up to provide guided cycle tours in and around the city of Nottingham. We cater for teenage children upwards with basic cycling competence. Our tours are 90% off road and offer a unique and fun way to really get to know our city. Our guides will highlight the key landmarks to help our customers understand the city’s rich, and sometimes dark, history through the ages.

The City Tour starts in the Old Market Square next to the Left Lion, and finishes in the city centre.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: HOW DO I PAY?

A: Pay cash at the start of the tour.

Q: WHAT TRAINING DO YOU HAVE?

A: Both of your guides are British Cycling Ride Leader trained, which includes Emergency First Aid training.

Q: WHAT IS THE LENGTH AND DURATION OF THE TOURS?

A: The tours last for a maximum of 3 hours and are no longer than 13 miles, however, the length and duration can be reduced to suit rider ability and weather conditions.

Q: ARE THE BICYCLES AND HELMETS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE SHOWN FOR THE TOURS?

A: Bikes are not included in the tour price and can be provided for £5 per cycle, however we will need advance notice. Helmets are recommended but are not compulsory.

Q: ONE MEMBER OF OUR GROUP HAS LIMITED CYCLING EXPERIENCE, WHAT SHOULD WE DO?

A: We do not recommend the tour for such a person as we require cyclists with a reasonable level of competence and confidence on a bike, but we would love to see them when they are up to speed in the future, something that we definitely encourage them to do!

Q: CAN YOUNG CHILDREN DO THE TOUR?

A: Children below secondary school age cannot participate unless accompained by an adult who will take full responsibility for their supervision.

Q: CAN YOU OFFER THE TOUR IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE?

A: At this time, the tour is English only, but we are looking into providing tour material via an app/internet method. So watch this space.
